Taking the breaks Americans weren’t allowed to take.
Years ago while hiking along the NY/NJ I came upon an EPA Superfund site that was allegedly being remediated; there were a few guys openly sleeping in the work trucks (mid-day), and nobody else was there. I startled them because they were at the end of a closed road, but I had come through the woods behind them.
The NYC metro area doesn’t just have a huge cost-of-living problem; the real problem is that you get nothing in return for so many makework jobs doled out to maintain the charade of a successful middle class. The private sector here has been crushed, and Latin Americans are trafficked here to replace the mass exodus of that American middle class to greener pastures.
