Was there a Harbor Pilot on board, navigating and directing the ship’s exit from port? That is the billion dollar question
—
2 were on board. Pay up!
So says MSN deriving from NTSB. We will not hear from the Pilot(s), until official hearing for facts. This is ear droppings from some NTSB person... a Ms. somebody. Sorry, you’ll have to force me to Trump Bond that payment, as a bigger question is why this bridge had never been fortified against collision as, say the Sunshine State bridge was in FL. That accident was with a phosphate ship losing control in a gale common to the waters there. A tragedy that took out a Greyhound bus with passengers.
What is developing is the impact on US Coal Industy- from this port, and this conduit is HAZMAT designated route to avoid tunnels with risk of destruction. So why not on every support on the bridge? Not the 2 one can see in photos. USCG photo here: https://cdn.dvidshub.net/media/thumbs/photos/2205/7237620/1000w_q75.jpg
