This is an article by a former Royal Navy officer giving his perspective on the tragic collision between the ship Dali and the Francis Scott Key Bridge.
It is based, as he says, on the best information he had available at time of writing.

8 to 12 years to replace the bridge, was mentioned on Larry O’Connor’s radio show this morning.
Cited were: Environmental studies, labor and H&R issues, pending lawsuits, etc.
G W Bush got the I-35 bridge replaced in a year, 10 months ahead of schedule, and under budget, by waiving all of the above.
I’m betting it won’t be a similar situation with the commies in charge.
2 Harbor Pilots were on board. IIRC one of them called in the Mayday, but I can’t swear to that. Beyond that, we’ll need to wait for NTSB to release a transcript or the audio from the bridge itself. NTSB is working on cleaning up the audio on the VDR, which was interrupted by alarms and such.
Jao Bai-din's Communist handlers, who are shipping in and out of that port, will have Jao fleece the taxpayers to have that bridge repaired in record time.
Your local NWS records wind speed based on readings from the national standard height of 33 feet (typical height of an anemometer). That's why sometimes they seem to report conditions as breezier than it seems when you walk out the door.
(Rather drastically, I almost got nailed by an ~8" (and fresh / healthy wood too!) branch several nights ago in a storm. I'd run out to grab a pet, thinking "this isn't so bad." Maybe 20-30 mph gusts. 40 ft. or more up though, evidently it was a different story. Definitely a pretty good scare.)
Wrong….this ship had a minor issue with the stern impacting a pier..different crew and different people captain
Also too many in academia. As one wag put it: "PhDs have learned more and more about less and less until they know absolutely everything about nothing, and absolutely nothing about everything else".
Actually no...the Twin Spans are longer. I wasn’t clear on how much had to be repaired though.
Bingo!!! Exactly.
