Obviously, another CIA backed hit job, they never dropped anchor.
Politicians and CEOs like new shiny objects for the next election or quarterly report.
The problem is everywhere; Airlines and Operations, Rail Systems, Shipping Fleets, Military Hardware and facilities, Roads and Bridges, etc...
Kind of like Jo Jo Bidenskyyyyyyyyyyyyy’s EVs.
Hmm....wonder what services the back-up generators DO perform.
are these ships inspected by our people in order ot be allowed to dock
Yeah, while riding their momentum forward at eight knots, they didn't drop anchor. What were they thinking?!?
:D
I think our Transportstion Secretary is still on maternity leave…
Watch the video in this article. The ship turned into the bridge. This is a Terrorist attack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll take a guess...
First thing to do when experiencing loss of maneuvering power. Every sailor knows that.

“... they never dropped anchor.”
Look at the image of the port bow. The anchor chain is in the water angled toward the stern. They are lying.
I have no idea what was happening with the crew, but no doubt they were in total panic-mode. I’ve read a ship of that magnitude can take up to 2 miles to come to a full stop. At sea or otherwise. I mean, it does weigh a lot more than a train that can take a mile to come to a full stop. Have to consider the current also/how it moved the vessel if no steering was possible. All around horrible situation in so many ways. Mainly the loss of life.
Dali cargo ship suffered ‘severe electrical problem’ while docked in Baltimore days prior to bridge collapse crash
= = =
Just confirming, a trial run.
This raises some questions: 1. Did the mechanics sign off on fixing the major electrical issues? Did they need too? 2. Who cleared the ship to leave after all those issues?
Container ships are a hodge podge of responsabilty, “flagged” (registered) in one country (mostly NOT the U.S.) owned by a company from another country, operated by a contractor from another country, staffed by crews from different countries, and constantly are in a circle jerk of blaming each other when problems happen.
If they had such issues just prior to this accident, while docked, shouldn’t that have required satisfactory investigation and fixing before being allowed to continue on? Wonder if there is even some sort of protocol for that kind of thing?
It wouldn’t surprise me.
