Fioretti is a Democrat plant. He was in office as a democrat for decades prior to 2022 when he became a “Republican”...hmmmm...I wonder why. Plant or no plant, he serves a useful purpose for the Republicans. If the eventual winner of the dem primary has to withdraw outside Illinois period for withdrawal, then Fioretti automatically wins.
That is a major reason to always have opposition candidates on the ballot even if they have no chance of winning.
