Most boomers did the right thing, went to work or reported for service when drafted. It was a loudmouthed minority that got all the attention. Hence t6he stereotype.

The vast majority of the 10 million boomers who served were volunteers as were the men who fought in Vietnam, the under 30 Americans were also the strongest supporters of the Vietnam War.
