I don’t think saying something is fake supports any side, ever. It’s just a statement that ‘this is not true’.
It’s like saying that if someone said 1+1 doesn’t equal 3, they are in cahoots with someone. It’s baffling. Your opinions on things, and preconceptions should not cloud your judgements enough to call someone that calls out fake news is ‘compromised’ with an agenda.
In fact that means you are a ‘true believer’ just as much as the one that posted it and insists fake things are true.

Anyone who says 1+1=3 has an agenda.
Anyone who calls it out, disrupts that agenda.
Now, you may want to claim “I am a disinterested truth teller”, “I am a completely neutral finder of fact”.
But that is just naive. You are disrupting a power grab by 1+1=3, and they are not going to be happy.
