The early diplomatic recognition and support from the U.S. government under Truman was crucial for establishing and legitimizing the new State of Israel in 1948 after Britain’s departure from Palestine.

So what? Did Truman sign adoption of Israel papers as part of this recognition?

One other option is for the USA to just tell Israel to SHOVE IT and say, it’s your problem, we’re no longer going to get involved one way or another.

You want to cut spending, you only have a 4 seat majority and not every Republican is on your side plus, Senate is controlled by the Democrats and Biden is President.

Johnson has the same amount of leverage as the RINOs, as the Senate and as the president. He should use it. And he would have the support of the majority of the people, who don't want to spend all of that money, that would destroy our dollar and cause inflation, on absolute junk.

In the meantime, the government has bills to pay and debts to service and the military to support.

The last estimate I heard was that during a shutdown, there would be enough money to fund about 85% of government from tax receipts. Under those circumstances, it would on Biden to not use those funds to fund the military, the debt and SSI.
