If his friends were telling the truth he wasn’t that drunk, then probably. There was a reason the bar threw him out. Those “friends” are highly questionable letting him leave in that condition by himself.
I have seen people in Nashville bars take their shirts off and scream at the top of their lungs without getting kicked out. He had to be pretty bad off.
I think these “friends” are saying this to ease their own conscience.
I read somewhere that they had been bar hopping/ day drinking.
“THAT DRUNK” by the standards kids use today is a far cry from OK.
