This type of thing happening in my neck of the woods is one of the reasons why I will take a vacation. Being elderly, I want to find a senior apartment that has one main entrance, accessible only by the occupants, and with all of the units being accessed from within, like a dormitory. Only then will I have some sense of security enough to vacation.
“Why you will NOT take a vacation”, right?
Sounds good but consider the story out of NY today. A woman came back from Spain to her mother’s apartment in a high end building in Manhattan (I believe) to find her mother dead and her body placed in a suitcase in a closet....No door to her apartment - had to be accessed with a private elevator with a code...HOW did anyone get in?
As seniors we all want security and a safe retirement home would be the answer but this woman thought she was living in a safe place also.
Never in our lives would we have thought in our later years we would have to be on our watch constantly..fearful of where we live and fearful of leaving.
Sure not the country we were born into 80-90 years ago...
huh? Why would you want to take a vacation?
