Does anyone, ANYONE in their right mind believe there are any living hostages? Previously released hostages (by their own reports) were starved, raped, tortured and otherwise abused daily. I never underestimate the human will to survive - but 5 months down the road...the odds of survival are astronomical.
Why wouldn’t they keep at least some of the hostages alive to use as leverage/bargaining chips/human shields etc?
