I’m glad to see Trump appealing Judge McAfee’s decision today to only remove Wade from the case. Many felt he shouldn’t do that, and instead approach it politically and leave Willis blowing in the wind, but appealing gives a better chance to end it once and for all, and it leaves her blowing in the wind anyway.

It would appear that they can only appeal with the trial judge's permission. Otherwise, it would become a petition for a prerogative write of mandamus or prohibition.

An important point, indeed, but as the judge already stated he would approve the prosecution’s right to appeal his ruling to reduce the number of charges, he would look quite hypocritical to now deny Trump’s right to appeal, albeit on a different matter.

Some have even opined that McAfee’s ruling was so damning of both Willis and Wade, he was practically begging for Trump to appeal the suspension of only one of the two, but leaving the dirty work of axing them both to the appeals court. I don’t know if that was his intent, but if it was, this is exactly how you would do it.
