Former President Trump said Sunday that he will decide “pretty soon” whether to back a national abortion ban.
Trump’s comments come after reports surfaced last month that he is considering embracing a 16-week federal abortion ban for his campaign platform.
“We’re going to find out,” Trump told Fox News host Howard Kurtz on whether he would back the policy. “Pretty soon, I’m gonna be making a decision. I would like to see if we could make both sides happy.”
The Trump campaign pushed back on reports of the policy last month but did not deny that Trump was considering it, instead offering a vague statement saying Trump would “sit down with both sides and negotiate a deal that everyone will be happy with.”

Even with Roe v. Wade being overturned we still had enough votes in 2022 to win a majority of congressional votes by over 3 million.

Trump just needs to avoid this topic all together. Right now all the main issues are in his favor. Don’t take the bait and start talking about this which is terrain the Democrats would love to shift to fighting on instead of the economy and illegal alien invasion.

This election is possibly the last for our republic. There will be widespread cheating and the only hope is that Trump can bring in moderates and Democrats to overwhelm the cheating. He’s looking at the position that the majority of people in this country support. Whether you like it or not, it IS the average position of human beings. It’s too liberal for conservatives and too conservative for liberals. Right smack in the middle where it needs to be. Argue about it after the election. Right now, the ONLY thing that matters is Trump being elected. This is a smart move on Trump’s part and I support him totally.

Parts of it, yes. The part about his wishing to sit down with both sides is of good intent but highly improbable. Everything else is a lie.
The issue of abortion is no longer in the hands or determinations of the federal government. That went to the states when Roe vs. Wade went tango uniform. So neither Trump or anyone else in the feds can over rule states’ rights with an abortion ban.
Also, to get representatives from all fifty and territories that agree on policies of an abortion ruling into a place for discussion is downright impossible. Like I said, the intent was good but the reality is it is not going to happen.

Let me introduce my opinion.. I have given birth to 4 sons. And we adopted a baby girl.
I have held the innocent beautiful baby... Nothing in the world compares. I have one that was not aborted.. She is pro life in every way.
I do not know how anyone could kill a baby.. You have to be an awful person with no conscience.
The right to be born is an unalienable right from God not matter what man might think
if he’s changing the conversation to federal mandate vs leaving it with states, that’s a winning issue. If he is considering making abortion a federal mandate, he loses all evangelicals.
