“President Trump’s Secret Service detail is going to let Smith’s FBI agents haul Trump away?”

You tell me. What’s the legality on that? If a rigged trial deems him guilty, will the SS stand down and allow him to be taken into custody? This is totally unprecedented ... so how does anyone know what would happen? I only know that what shouldn’t be happening... HAS happened and still IS happening.

We are so deep into banana republic territory that simply voting isn’t going to save our nation.

If Trump were to be found guilty and sentenced to prison, the Secret Service could not legally prevent him from being taken into custody. At most, they would have input into how he is incarcerated to prevent danger to his life. That might mean a form of solitary confinement and having final say on the guards, etc. But they couldn’t refuse to allow him to be incarcerated.

Here is what we can assume.

SS used to be under the Treasury Department, but now it's in Homeland.

The FBI is under Justice.

This means that it's a conversation between Garland and Mayorkas. Any guesses on how THAT conversation might go?
