I hired a deaf guy as a systems analyst. Programmed my TRS-80 so I could close caption the classes in Structured Analysis so he could learn. The problem was he couldn’t interface with users to find out what they wanted. Luckily he was a great illustrator, so we transferred him to our art department.
This lawsuit is wonderfully diverse. So progressive!

I'm sure there are many FReepers with a disability on this site. So it's always important to make a reasonable accommodation so everyone's needs will be met.
To me, she got hired. Maybe she needed training/orientation. So after that, she shouldn't need an interpreter. After all, there is email. And paper and pen.
Unfortunately, it does not look like she is interested in working. Google gave her an opportunity. Her employer is going to think twice about hiring another Black person or a disabled person because they're not going to do the work or they're looking for a quick payday.

I worked at a company a very long time ago.
One of my co-workers who was quite black was making fun of another co-worker who was native american.
(we both liked the guy but his genius about being stupid was legendary, I even started drawing cartoons everytime he did something incomprehensible)
co worker said, you know if I owned this agency, I would hire a dozen just like him.... big dumb and stupid.
so a few days later the company newsletter comes out, and they ask us to nominate people for being outstanding.
I nominate Moose, cause that was his name and say “I have heard it said that if I ran this agency I would hire a dozen just like him.”
so they gave him a big award and some money, and got his picture in the monthly newsletter. I feel bad cause it went to his head because he believed his great press.

They hired a deaf person to be a content moderator? That was pretty stupid itself. So then they have to hire a translator to tell her what is being said in the video she’s moderating?
I wonder how much this will cost Google, just so it could check off a couple of boxes for diversity and inclusion brownie points?
