> officers will only respond to calls of in-progress emergencies <
Moral of the story: If you’re going to burglarize a house in Pittsburgh, or shoplift, or whatever… be quick about it. Don’t hang around.
Anyway, I suspect this will cause a drop in crime statistics. Mainly because folks will eventually realize it’s not worth the time to call in a report.
I just found out yesterday that The FBI crime reporting database is no longer useful. Too many municipalities have decided over the last three years to stop reporting crimes to it, so it reflects a drastic reduction in crime.
I have used that database many times to gather information, and people like Heather MacDonald, formerly a journalist at the Wall Street Journal who used the FBI database to buttress her contention that black crimes against the police and whites far, FAR outstrips crime by police against blacks, or whites against blacks. (Basically, 40% of the violent crime (murders, rapes, aggravated assaults, armed robberies, etc.) were committed by 3-6% of the population, black males between the ages of 17 and 45.
A most inconvenient fact.
The Left wanted to get the Wall Street Journal to fire her for speaking the truth, but she backed up her reporting with facts, and they couldn’t legally fire Ms. MacDonald.
