President Biden used his State of the Union address Thursday to blast Donald Trump, but stunned listeners as he veered from his script to mention Georgia nursing student Laken Riley’s murder last month by an illegal immigrant — erring twice by calling her “Lincoln.” Biden, 81, began his campaign-style speech by highlighting his best-polling positions — on issues such as abortion, NATO and the Capitol riot — but was derailed by persistent Republican heckling, including their demands that he say Riley’s name after the House passed legislation hours earlier in her honor to require the jailing of migrants who commit certain crimes.
“Lincoln — Lincoln Riley, an innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal,” Biden said, both botching her name and using a term considered politically incorrect by most Democratic officeholders.“That’s right, but how many thousands of people are being killed by illegals?” Biden said — as he held up a button with Riley’s name that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) had handed him on his way into the chamber.
Biden had told Greene ahead of the speech “I know how to say her name” — despite not doing so since her murder Feb. 22 on the University of Georgia’s campus, allegedly by a Venezuelan migrant released at the border pursuant to Biden administration policies.

The USA is a runaway train with a dead man in the engineer’s seat. The conductor (media) goes through the cars assuring the passengers everything is fine...never mind the screeching wheels on the curves...or the blinding strobe effect of low sunlight passing through the trees out the window at a hundred and forty mph...or the bump that made half the stuff in the overhead luggage rack jump out. More than half the people on-board are at tachycardia levels of fright — some are wailing — but the other less than half just remain fixed on their phones and laptop screens. They can’t be bothered to look out the window...
