What little we know of the administration's plan to build a port and causeway to deliver aid to Gazans raises serious questions about the safety of American troops involved in the project.
This is a project of stupendous scale involving hundreds of thousands of American military personnel, the participation of several other nations in the region, and possibly even Israeli assistance.
It would also expose American naval vessels and personnel to hostile fire from any number of sources. The Navy is planning for these eventualities and has long experience covering operations of this kind.
The port will take 30-60 days to build, assuming there are no major delays.
Tonight, Biden will look into the camera and solemnly swear that no American troops will set foot in Gaza. I wonder how he can make such a promise. Unless the Israelis pledge to protect the port from attack once it's in place, the job will be left to Egypt. And Cairo doesn't want the headaches any more than Israel does.

Building a seaport for Gaza. Utterly deranged.
DC spreads evil around the world and is at war with the American people. Can’t build Trump’s wall, but seaport for Gaza? Sure!
Siding with terrorist HAMAS for one. Nothing good will come of that.
Uh, Gaza IS part of israel.
Mogadishu part 2.
“It would also expose American naval vessels and personnel to hostile fire from any number of sources.”
Translation. The people we are building a seaport for will shoot at us WHILE we build it. Number of sources? All that is there is Palestinians, Egyptians, and Israelis... that’s it.
I’d wager the “seaport” is to take hundreds of thousands of Palestinians aboard ships for their voyage to the USA and “asylum.”
Look a terrorist resuppy port. Bomb them
If I'm exaggerating, it isn't by much. The chances of an American-Israeli War are approximately zero, but before the White House leaked this whopper, the chances were precisely zero.
Exactly. But Israel turned it over to the Palestinians as a territory. In any case, we are building a port, in Gaza, to supply the Hamas area.
Sickening.
The answer is more than zero.
The scorpion is hitching a ride on the frog...
Gee, buying those Muslim votes in Michigan is really getting expensive.
Seriously? That has to be a mistake.
And if we're going to be delivering aid, why don't we just negotiate with Egypt and Israel? They already have land borders. Why build a new one?
And Israel was attacked within her own Gaza borders on October 7th, 2023. What makes you think that Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah wouldn't take advantage of US troops in the area conducting construction of a temporary port? This isn't the British/U.S. Mulberry harbors built in WWII you know. U.S. troops were sent to conduct a humanitarian mission in a hostile territory in 1993, and it turned into the murder of 18 Army Rangers who were dragged through the streets of Mogadishu, Somalia. This is just another opportunity for RATS to send our military into the line of fire.
This would be an American declaration of war on Israel.
One would think that building this port would require Congressional approval and apporpriation of funds.
That won’t happen. This is just ‘virtue signalling’ to the muslim’s wanting Biden to declare a ceasefire.
he's spending other peoples money, he could care less.
The only reason for such a ridiculous idea is to bypass any Israeli control, like a D-Day invasion of France against Nazis. If that’s not the purpose, why not just use the nice port of Ashdod, 30 miles away?
