The California situation is very confusing.
The ranked choice does not apply to the Republican Presidential Primary.
This articles explains:
https://calmatters.org/newsletters/whatmatters/2023/07/2024-election-california-republicans/
“But for the March primary, if any candidate can secure more than 50% of the votes statewide, they will get all 169 delegates, reports the Los Angeles Times. If no one wins a majority, the delegates will be awarded proportionately based on each candidate’s share of the statewide vote.”

California, for instance, is Ranked Choice.Ranked choice will remain popular with progressives until it turns on them and bites them in the butt someday, then it will be dropped as the stupid idea that it truly is.

Very light turnout for both GOPe and Dims here in Northern Virginia- less than 2% of registered voters.

Thank you! Wow, that is confusing. I don’t think I understand how California elections operate, at all.
To: Lakeside Granny
Thanks for the ping! I will be out late tonight, but I already voted. The Massachusetts ballot is stupid, as it has ALL the candidates who even breathed a notion about running as a Republican. Even those who dropped out and endorsed Trump.
I hope the dozen or so Republicans in my state have at least a Three Digit IQ, and vote for Trump.

Voted here 11AM Carrollton, TX. Prolly about 20-25 voters total. They said its been about the same flow all morning so far. Texas also has a lot of conservative type propositions on the ballots too. Didnt see my congresscritter on the ballot (R)Beth Van Duyne. Wonder whats up with that?

Most analysts believe it will take until March 19th.
The reason for that is that Nikita will win some delegates today—she might squeak by in Vermont or maybe Virginia and she will get some delegates based on proportional or congressional districts in some states.
The calculations are very complicated—if I had to pick one number I would say she would get 125 delegates today.
If you go plus to minus 50 on that number that is a reasonable range.
