Briben has now lost his most prog faction of his base (in addition to blacks and latinos) .... the Squad and Bernie ones .... so, he has to fake these protests, so he can (as you say) talk *tough* as well as send military ships to build ports, in Gaza.

He thinks this is a WINNING stance. I guess in MI it might be.
