An AZ story that could happen anywhere.
Praying for this young man that he may open the eyes of his Harvard friend.

Interesting exchange with a young plumber doing some work at my home earlier today.
I had Bongino podcast playing on my laptop at the kitchen table as he was reviewing the work order with me. He comments: Bongino, he’s good, I listen to him all the time. I kept the podcast rolling as he was installing my new garbage disposal and I was answering emails.
As he worked, we chatted about his family, his adorable son who just turned 1 last week, (yes I saw pictures) laughing at some of Bongino’s comments now and then. Talked about Trump’s run this year and how important it was. He says he’s really sad how some people have just stoked division in the Country,
“It wasn’t like this 10 years ago”.
I agreed.
Then, he tells me this story:
In HS, he had 2 best friends. One a white guy “like me” he said, the other a first generation Muslim-American whose family came from Bangladesh. The three of them grew up together in Mesa, only parting ways after Graduation. Mr. Plumber went to South Africa on Mission for 2 years, his 2nd friend went into the Marines, and the 3rd friend, received full ride to Harvard which they celebrated!
Prior to the 2020 election, his Harvard friend, broke off contact with the other 2 because they were voting for Trump, accusing them both of being racists.
Mr. Plumber was shocked, and hurt. Racists?
Someone he’d known, grown up with, been best friends with their entire lives?
::Sigh::
“Guess what? “, he says next.
“What?”
On his way to the appointment at my home this morning, the very same Harvard friend, texted him.
He’s in town and would like to get together.
“How do you feel about that?” I asked.
He said he was excited but kinda worried. He’d called his Marine friend and his wife asking what should he do?
Then he asked me what I thought.
I told him I thought that it took some guts for your friend to reach out after what he said to you guys.
He’s opened the door.
I’d accept his invitation.
That’s what he’s going to do.
They’re getting together this weekend.
Let’s send a prayer his way, for all 3 friends, shall we?
