Maxwell is a French citizen. To this day I don’t understand why she didn’t flee to France at the first sign of trouble. It is very unlikely that France would have agreed to extradite her.

If she fled, she would have just met an unfortunate accident, like her car would have inexplicably accelerated into a stand of trees.
