If causing offense is the issue, what about people who are offended by garbled language, such as describing mothers as birthing persons?
Reminds me recently I saw something on TV about prostate issues in men. The woman being interviewed continually talked about people with penises, and people with prostates. She was unable or unwilling to say that men are the people who have prostates.
I’ve also heard people talk about pregnant people, rather than pregnant women, because it offends the sensibilities of these activists if you would imply that women get pregnant.
