A couple of times in my career I was in failing companies where the leadership tried to implement a plan to save the company. There are people way down in the hierarchy who sabotage the plans even though it is not in their interest to do so. I suspect it’s to demonstrate their power. When I asked one guy why he was doing the sabotage he said, “Well, f@ch ‘em” So, no rational reason, just to prove they can’t do without him. It’s like keying someone’s car but not being there when they return to see the damage.
