Look at this comparison of Fani Willis' and Judge Scott McAfee's career timelines. It looks like Willis' career stalled out in the District Attorney's office while McAfee was a rising star who was advancing rapidly through the judicial offices of the state.

I don't think he's in the tank; I believe that McAfee has the superior career and the confidence of the Governor. I think he needs to let the players expose themselves so he doesn't get the brunt of the backlash.

Remember, it looks like the players are appealing to a jury, but it's the judge alone who will be deciding, and he knows what's going on.

I was hoping you'd say something like that. "Give a man enough rope . . ." Still, as a layperson, he appears to be bending over backward to help the witnesses in their stupid act. (I can also understand now why trials take so long.) Then again, as you said, he may need to do what he's doing in order to say later that he was more than fair.
