You're not wrong, but a meal at Wendy's is more than just the cost of raw ingredients. A work crew that's slammed during lunch rush and screwing up performance metrics because they're in the weeds is paid the same as one that's idle at 1:30.
I think it makes more sense to offer discounts to flatten out demand and drive a little more business during slow times than it does to raise the prices during busy times and piss off the highest concentration of your patrons and make them less likely to return, but nobody asked me.
