What was that story a few years ago about a barrier being removed from a mine and the water flooding out? I wonder about the eventual outcome of that event.

Well,
the nature always eventually clears itself up.
Bunch of years ago, in Romania, they spilled some potassium Cyanite from Gold mine to a creek. It totally clean a Tisza river (substantial River in Hungary, Serbia, Rumania Ukraine and Slovakia) of any life whatsoever.
It seems it is all now recovered.
Cuyahoga river in Cleveland was so polluted, it caught a fire.
Nature is a lot more resistant that the Greens have you believe!
IIRC that was Silverton CO . Animas river.
Sounds like when the Feds broke a dam around Silverton Colorado, and polluted the Animas River, San Juan River, and Colorado River clear to Mexico.. I used to live on the Animas in my youth.
