What does deadlocked mean? At this point I don’t think anyone still imagines casualty ratios to be sufficiently Ukraine dominant to compensate for the overwhelming population differential. How can losing an enormously larger proportion of your population vs Russia be called deadlocked?
When munitions achieved the sort of ranges possible today, territory lost its battle significance. All that measures success in battle now is how many you kill or incapacitate.
