What about property taxes??

If the state “overvalues” a property. And Charges X tax based on that valuation.

If some judge with no real estate experience decides that the property is not worth X. Do they get to sue the state and get back their taxes?

Where I live the ‘official assessment’ for property tax is less than 1/10th the market value of my home and land now and in fact is maybe a quarter of what I paid for it originally. I’ve always assumed that this is S.O.P. in most jurisdictions.

The fact that the NY judge claimed that the assessed value of Mar-a-Lago was the actual market value of the land tells me the judge knows next to nothing about real estate.
