Growing up in MN I recall my dad frequently describing him as a “windbag.”

That definitely left a negative and lasting impression on my youthful self.

I actually voted for a dem senator from our state. He was the blue dog variety and far from a commie like most are today. He exited politics when forced to vote for obama care, which shows he had some level of integrity far above today’s radical rats.

My father-in-law was a die hard democrat. He was a coal miner and the dem party protected their interests.

When I was a kid the dem party was generally for the working stiff and farmer while the repubs were for business interests.

That’s all changed. The rats now hate coal and farmers. The rats are pure un-American. They have indeed been taken over by the fringe. The fringe is now the party.

My parents were Democrats. They called themselves Kennedy Democrats. What I fear most about today’s Kennedy Democrats is they are referring to Teddy and not John.

The Republican party of today are Kennedy Democrats. Also, I fear many of them are Teddy and not John Kennedy Democrats.

I never voted Democrat ever. I did write in “Jesus Christ” during the G. Herbert Walker Bush second attempt. His NWO speech raised the hairs on the back if my neck, literally.

Saul David Alinsky was probably the most consequential political figure of the late 20th century. He told the hippies to clean up, wear suits and run for office. They did. He developed the “dog whistle.” He’d run a communist candidate in local elections as a spoiler. When the Democrat adopted the communist ticket items, Saul would blow the dog whistle and the very minor communist party members would all vote Democrat. Thus, he swayed the Democrats into being communists. It was a decades long process, but it worked. Today we have a party that is indistinguishable from the communists and, indeed, it has gone much farther into lunacy like trans issues, abortion and LGBT, blacksploitation, etc.

My Dad considered himself a democrat, because of FDR getting people back to work and out of the Great Depression. But as a business owner, he railed against taxes, government agencies coming in and telling him how to run his business. On a non-business level, he was pro life, anti gun control- he and Mom were really pretty conservative. I tried to tell him that he wasn’t a democrat, but s conservative, and he pretty much told me I was full of s—-.
He couldn’t see the change that was going on around him. Plus he took everything the mainstream media said as gospel.

The first time I could ever vote for president was in 1980. I actually voted for Jimmy Carter, because back then, I thought I was a Democrat (young skull filled with mush, as Rush would say).

On election night in 1980, I listened to Ronald Reagan's victory speech, and decided in my mind he deserved a chance. Been voting R ever since.

Senator Proxmire(D) from Wisconsin cared about out of control spending back when Reagan was on Death Valley Days.

My parents were John Kennedy democrats. They were born in the 1930’s. My grandfather was an elected democrat judge from the 40’s to the 60’s. He left the party with Johnson started his destruction of the country.

Independents are the deciding factor in all national elections. Partisan Dems love what their compadres are doing in using the courts in NY and elsewhere to wage war. Republicans hate it. Overreach is when Independents peel off and begin identifying more with the object of the abuse than with the abuser. This last outrageous NYC decision may turn that particular Independent worm.

Over time, as people see Trump still standing despite everything thrown against him, he’s got to be gaining some respect from even his detractors at his resiliency.
