Kremlin threatens to unleash Armageddon on the West if it loses in Ukraine: Moscow warns it will fire nuclear missiles on London, Washington, Berlin and Kyiv if Russia is forced to give up territory READ MORE: Putin snarls Ukraine war is a 'matter of life and death' for Russia

The Kremlin today threatened to fire nuclear missiles on London, Washington, Berlin and Kyiv if Russia is forced to give up the Ukrainian territory it has invaded.

Dmitry Medvedev - a close Putin ally who served as president from 2008 to 2012 - said if a military defeat led to a return to the 1991 frontiers, when the Soviet Union collapsed, Moscow would unleash Armageddon.

'Attempts to return Russia to the borders of 1991 will lead to only one thing,' he said. 'Towards a global war with Western countries using the entire strategic arsenal of our state. In Kyiv, Berlin, London, Washington.'

Hypersonic nuclear missiles would also strike 'all other beautiful historical places that have long been included in the flight targets of our nuclear triad'.

He added: 'Will we have the courage to do this if the disappearance of a thousand-year-old country, our great Motherland, is at stake, and the sacrifices made by the people of Russia over the centuries will be in vain? The answer is obvious.'

He suggested Kyiv and the West should allow Putin to have the bits of Ukraine he thinks of as Russia.

'It's better to return everything [to us] before it's too late. Or we will return it ourselves with maximum losses for the enemy. Like in Avdiivka. Our warriors are heroes!'

Medvedev, deputy head of the Russian security council which controls the war, hit out at 'snotty Anglo-American fosterlings' who oppose Putin.

“Then we have the quislings.”

Name one American here who would be against retaliating with nukes if Russia used them against us.

"Indeed, the nihilist and anti-christ crowd in the Kremlin would be happy!"

Far more likely that some Zeepers would be cheering, even as their skin was sloughing off, their hair falling out and they were spitting up blood post nuke attack - if they were "lucky" enough to survive the blast.

Oh, well. Yawn.

So... either :

1. edvedev is on the sauce again or Russia really does believe we’ll win or Russia really has turned intergalactic space cadet, or it’s the usual Putin puffing braggadocio. Bluff, nonsense, ignore it.

Or:

2. Time to stop being cavalier about this stuff. Russia parrots this rhetoric constantly because...because it has a hard-on? Because it just wants us to back off? Or because it actually WANTS this war?

Read this open letter to Congress from an American veteran who’s been training Ukrainian people in how to fight back against the Russian invasion. Unlike Russia he doesn’t hide his motivation, unlike Putin he doesn’t have a propaganda army finessing the message before factory broadcasting it.

As I’ve said on another thread, you can feel the deep love of his country, the USA, in his plea to Congress.

https://twitter.com/wartranslated/status/1759295578482106674?t=rb3WHvwJ3vu6Ug4IKzHRLA&s=19

You know what I hear with almost every argument in Putin’s favor? America sucks. America has lost its way. We need to be like Russia.

If you want to hear a stout defence of the very values that created the USA in the first place, don’t bother reading shite from Putin puffers. Because you won’t find any of it there.

Instead, read and feel the deep love of country in this gentleman’s message.

--- "Well, I can do without DC. Anyone else?"

Yes.

I did contractual work in Belgium a number of times. Twice, during the now somewhat amusing periods when the parliament could not form because of rancor between parties, such than no coalition could come together. We all got along just fine.

As this is not well known in the US, here are some snippets of info with sources:

"Belgium’s warring political parties have agreed to form a government nearly two years after the previous one collapsed, as the country passed the grim milestone of 10,000 deaths from coronavirus.

"The deal, only finalised in the early hours of Wednesday , ends 652 days of caretaker and minority governments, since the fall of the previous administration in December 2018."

Belgium agrees on government nearly two years after previous one fell

"According to Bart De Wever, leader of the Flemish rightwing N-VA party and mayor of Antwerp, forming a Federal Government for Belgium will not be possible after the 2024 elections.

"His remarks came on the Flemish Holiday on Monday, following comments by the leader of the far-right Vlaams Belang party Tom Van Grieken, who stated that confederalism is 'the greatest political lie of the last ten years.'

:De Wever, however, believes that confederalism – which would see Flanders and Wallonia both become independent sovereign states, cooperating as an administrative unit – is 'the only answer'."

Belgium in Brief: No federal government in 2024?

"Did you know that Belgium had no government for 652 days? Hard to believe but true. This was the case from December 2018 to October 2020, where Belgium had no federal government and was governed by an interim government. This is nothing new to Belgium. It broke its own record from 2014 of not having a government for the longest time in the world. Now you may think, ‘How was this possible?”. It was possible because of how Belgium is structured with its 6 governments and overall, a strongly federalized state. The historic background is the sharp regional divide between the Flemish-speaking North and the French-speaking South. Therefore, in the case of Belgium, it proved that a federalized state with extensive regionalized competence is on its own stable enough to function well with all its capacities without a federal government for an interim period. "

How did Belgium Manage to Survive without having a Government for 652 days? A case study of the Complexities and Challenges of the Federal State of Belgium  Central European University, 20 February 2023

The "central" government is probably fragile even now, and again, after two hiatuses.

Nothing dreadful happened, except some politicians managed to be out of work. Life went on.

We talk of states' rights often as Americans. That IS the point. In this current mess, we can look to state governments without having to look to a federal thug-ocarcy.

This is one solid reason why migration by Americans within America is ongoing. Had enough of corruption in corruption in Chicago or utter depravity in San Francisco or the gathering mess in NYC? One moves away. This is a growing phenomenon.

So the Democrats and their RINOs chums try to gather all under the federal umbrella, such that Texas, a Republic unto itself, is dealing with a border mess the current federal Democrats have manufactured for ideological reasons.

We could do well to mimic the hiatuses in Belgium awhile, by my experiences. But then, my tagline reads "degrow government." Not a bad idea.

In the same way, were the EU to simply dissolve, most Europeans wouldn't notice any difference except perhaps having their own currencies back. Too many layer of politicians -- we do it in part with "think tanks" and such -- is a cost without a benefit. Except to them.

Best wishes.

A couple of exchanges of comments on other threads found me disputing with some who think MAD -- mutually assured destruction -- should be tested by going directly to the "destruction."

Your prose above is accurate. We know that Hiroshima and Nagasaki were rebuilt in time. I have been there. Recovery can happen. But recovery is needed for our inner cities right now, as the idiot Democrats and their RINOs enablers have made non-nuclear but still assured destruction via another route -- government.

The rattling of proverbial sabers on some of these threads is encouraged, in part, by the media in the UK, a withering once-and-no-longer empire with a military which could not fill Wembley stadium. Those imperial chappies need us to fulfill their now limp dreams, because as they decline, they still dream of power and might and majesty and medals on their chests, epaulets on their uniforms and those wonderful Windsor year gone by. Bye.

I recall the photo of be-ribboned Milley alongside a photo of far more accomplished yet less "decorated" Eisenhower. We need an Eisenhower, not Austin and that "admiral" Levine and teary Kirby which Biden brought to us.

Vote Trump. Vote out the Democrats, period.

Is all this “bogeyman” talk directed at Russia lately supposed to make the American people “rally around” that illegitimate “commander in chief” and accept another stolen election? I can’t speak for the rest of you people, but I’m NOT falling for it!

The talking heads also claim Trump in “on Putin’s side.” I’m done trying to “prove Trump’s innocence.” I WOULDN’T CARE if that WERE true! Putin isn’t the one trying to impose black supremacy, climate scams, court packing, gender mutilation of children, open borders, perverts in little girls’ bathrooms, and voter fraud on this country!

I agree that there is a lot of bluster from Russia to keep other nations out of this - talk of hypersonic missiles and such.

I think that Putin’s “recollection” of Poland in WWII to Tucker Carlson was bluster and was aimed at the Poland of today.

The thing is Children are way safer in Ukraine, EU and America than in Russia! Russia is in TIER 3 level when it comes to human trafficking. Jesus Christ, it’s one of the world’s absolute WORST countries in that area. You must open your eyes.

Russia has allied itself with the world’s absolute worst people, that includes North Korea, Iran/Hamas...

Amir Weitmann from #Israel’s ruling Likud Party, on the Russian channel RT, openly threatened Russia:

▪️”You will pay the price for supporting Israel’s enemies.”
▪️”We will make sure that #Russia pays the price for its actions.”
▪️”Remember what I said, don’t forget, and wait.”

VIDEO:

Then he ads that Israel will help Ukraine, once the war with Hamas is over.

And how will that benefit Russia? They live in the same atmosphere we do. There would be famine that would dwarf Stalin’s days. Hundreds of millions of Russian citizens would starve to death. Even without a single return warhead sent their way in response(as if) it would be suicide.

No need to go to nukes when the giant bombs now in use can do such terrible damage, and why mess up the world atmosphere? See massive destruction in Mariupol below;

https://www.polygraph.info/a/fact-check-russia-wont-quit-lying-about-the-deadly-mariupol-theater-bombing/6743425.html

Completely taking out the Kerch Bridge is probably not a good idea. Let the people drive out so when Ukraine gets Crimea back they don’t have to care for Russian civilians. Instead destroy carrying capacity for heavy military equipment. Destroy the rail portion of the Bridge, damage the roadway portion so even heavy trucks can’t use it, and bomb the giant ferries in dock when empty (avoiding civilians) so nothing heavy can be transported.

Has anything further been heard about Speaker Johnson receiving contributions from Russian pal(s) of Putin? Or have any other House members been flagged for this?

Do I have to remind you that YOU are the one who pinged me?
I simply answered your ping/post you addressed to me and apparently to 4 other persons you decided to ping as well... Right?

I’m a calm person, I always politely answer everyone who ping/post to me.
I’m not scared of debating. Dialog is healthy. If you don’t want my answers then simply don’t post/ping messages to me. Fair and logical right?

Here below is your ping/post and message to me (which I politely responded to):
