The population of Dolton is 91.9 percent black.

Obama, Clinton, and Biden won Dolton with 74 percent of the vote.

She won the mayoral election in 2021 with 82 percent of the vote.

In 2022 there was a recall referendum on the ballot that passed with 56 percent. But was thrown out by the courts on a legal technicality.
