[Why aren’t they paying for their own damn war then?]

It’s hard to pump oil/gas when a hostile neighbor invaded the territory where those resources are located. That is what this whole war is about. Resources. Not Nazis, not Russian speaking Ukrainians, not NATO on the border. This was to keep Ukraine from cutting into Russia’s natural gas exports.

OK, by that logic if Texas was attacked we wouldn't be able to defend ourselves? Because one of our prime energy areas was attacked?

That's the problem many Americans have with NATO and other countries... they don't save up their money for a crisis because they assume the idiot Americans will run in to save their bacon.

We were there for Europe during World War I and II and now they think they can spend every dime they have on themselves while WE do without so our military is first in the world? No, I'm NOT buying into that.
