Almost no one really serves the full, weak, sentences.

It depends on whether it's a federal or state prison and whether the media and powers that be hate or like you.

If you look at the Enron case you can see how it all worked.

Ken Lay, the founder of Enron, died when things were falling apart. So they couldn’t blame him.

The CFO, Andres Fastow, who masterminded the shell companies and perfected the methods of cooking the books and also named them after his family members, he and his wife who was part of the scheme, got off with 5 years at an’addiction’ clinic for his addiction to anti-anxiety pills and she got a year in a half-way house.

If you’re wondering why they allowed the mastermind Fastow to skate there’s a simple answer. The Fastows had A LOT of money. He partnered with some companies while at Enron and made 43 million. (Then his wife helped him conceal it in tax returns.) With that money they donated heavily to the Houston museum, symphony and synagogue and were well wired with the judicial system. So they couldn’t blame him!

Meanwhile the former CEO, Skilling, who did’t even work for Enron and had only been a CEO there for 6 months, he did 13 years of hard time! They wouldn’t even let him out to go to his son’s funeral. That’s how our Just-us system works.
