I was very disappointed to learn israel helped azeri turks defeat Armenians. They provided their suicide drones to the azeris which were decisive against the armenians. the turks then used their military superiority to ethnically cleanse Artsakh of armenians. I would have thought the Israelis had empathy for armenians.

The reality is a bit more nuanced.
I would have thought the Armenians have empathy for Israel, but the reality is different. They are closely aligned with Iran, who is an ally against Azeris. Also, Western Armenians in Lebanon and the Middle East are overwhelmingly pro-Hezbollah.
Historically, Armenia was pretty much an ethnostate, even when it was a Soviet republic, with very little Jewish presense. Conspiracy theories that the Young Turks who commited the Armenian genocide were crypto-Jews are common among nationalist Armenians.
Baku, on the other hand, was a multi-ethnic city with a large Jewish diaspora.
There also tensions that exist between the Armenian diaspora in Israel and Israelies.
