There’s a store near me that hired an Arab manager about six months ago. I visited it last week. Besides the Arab manager, there were four employees in the store. Three out of the four employees were Arab.
I was a bit surprised by that, given that I live in an old mill town and not in Saudi Arabia.
Anyway, my question: When are they going to get around to firing that lone white guy?
It is like this where I work. The management team tend to hire people like themselves (race and/or sex). They like about their belief in diversity, equity, and inclusion even though that is what the company I work for preaches.
And of course in IT, there are the Indian managers who only hire Indians.
