So if the red state legislatures ban the democratic candidate and the blue state legislatures ban the repulican candidate....which is what this all leads to, who wins? In a way we are just back to the electoral system but determined by state legislatures and governors I guess.....

Article II, Section 1, Clause 2:
Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress:


Seems to me as long as voters getting to choose Presidential Electors isn’t enshrined in the state constitution, the state legislature is free to do what it wants. Of course doing anything drastic would cause a political firestorm. But we seem to be inching towards such more and more every day.

Two very different ‘realities’ are being played out. One side says men can get pregnant, that January 6 was an insurrection on the level of the Civil War, and that Joe Biden enjoys vigorous mental and physical health, the other side denies all three. I don’t think this bodes well.
