According to the nurse treating me for kidney stones in the ER, I was given fentanyl and morphine. It worked!
Suppose, in the right hands, most drugs can be benficial.

While I was in ER, the ER dr told me fentanyl he administered was much much stronger than morphine.

Fentanyl and hydromorphone (Dilaudid) are the only drugs that seem to get kidney stone pain somewhat controlled. We use the heavy hitters for them. It is needed based on observation of most kidney stone patients doing the kidney stone dance.
