Good point.

Reagan would have urged negotiations with Russia to establish a non-aligned Ukraine while strengthening NATO’s defensive capabilities to enforce such a security agreement.

Pushing Russia into a war with NATO would not be something Reagan would support.

Especially since he regarded the USSR as a spiritual evil, vs all other confrontations as just political problems.
