He focused on the strongest arguments and didn’t get sidetracked.

His entire case was threaded through tenuous, ancient precedents. This would have been the correct approach for a complex regulatory case, but not for one which could unweave the fabric of our democracy. Thankfully, even some of the liberal justices made the bigger, more pertinent arguments for him.

The strongest arguments here were article 3 and 5 of the 14th amendment and Trump’s attorney hammered on them. Colorado tried to dance around them.

"our democracy"

The above phrase has become the Dim slogan in 2024 and should be avoided at all costs on FR. It is INTENTIONAL MISINFORMATION. This country is not a democracy and never has been. The USA is a Constitutional Representative Republic.

But if it had been a complex regulatory case, all of his other crap probably would’ve lost the case. Trump’s fortunate that the oral argument didn’t matter here and all the justices (except Sotomayor) came well prepared to side with him. T
