If you are a registered Republican voter in Nevada wanting to participate in today’s caucuses, the state party says the process is simple: Either stop by a caucus site starting at 5 p.m. and stay for the whole meeting until 7:30 p.m., or “cast your secret paper ballot and go.”
One of the reasons the party says it opted to run caucuses, which are operated independently from the oversight of the Nevada Secretary of State and county election officials, instead of participate in Tuesday’s Republican presidential preference primary is for election security. You must bring a valid government-issued identification to participate, they say.
But their version of election security includes counting the paper ballots by hand — with a party-issued observer, according to the state party website. Unlike elections coordinated by the Secretary of State that are secure and conducted electronically, there’s no official clearinghouse for the caucus vote.
And some of the same party officials who are accused of participating in a scheme that would have falsely given the state’s electoral votes to former President Donald Trump in the 2020 election are part of the planning for the caucuses.

Once again, stated as fact that NVs electoral votes would have “falsely” been awarded to Trump.
2020 was false all the way around.
The Las Vegas Sun is a commie rag. Virtually every Nevada election has been stolen since 2010 with massive vote fraud in Clark County. The security of the caucuses is understandable.
The Republican Party has been largely worthless in the state and have been too busy fighting each other to fight the election fraud very much like the national party.
I will be voting in one of the caucuses tonight.
I’m very confused, are they having a Primary AND Caucuses?
Dems, with a stranglehold on the state government, forced the primary, while the republicans fought for caucuses. The state courts said they had to have a primary per law, but they could ignore it with respect to awarding electors and do that in a caucus.
Indeed, FRiend...right there in the headline is one of the most recent Deep State/Leftist tropes...that the Nevada system was "tailored" to ensure Trump's success.
That tells you ALL that you need to know about the pathetic Nikki Haley, that she parrots exactly the same line.
My word of the day is “neoteny”.
Nikki Haley behaves like a spoiled child who whines and cries when she does not win the game.
I like how they try to make involvement of the Secretary of State sound like a GOOD thing. Try selling that in Georgia or Arizona.
The Republican Primary Caucus is as secure as the Republicans want to make it. This frustrates the little Commies who want to interfere.
Hopefully the Las Vegas Sun will be spend 2025 complaining that the general election was “tailored to ensure” President Trump’s re-election.
Lol.
Now, that DID make me chuckle! I do hope it comes to that!
I must say, I have a fair vocabulary, and I had never seen that word before. I think it has a lot of applications in today’s world...
JOTD
[Joke Of The Day]
And not only that, I nailed the pronunciation, even though I had to look it up and listen to it to be sure...:)
I am dictating conservative audiobooks as part of a group on FR, and it really has helped me-I end up stumbling over words that are unfamiliar, so I have to stop the recording, and look up the word. I have always been pretty good at pronouncing words I have never seen, and I zip over some, but ones like “neoteny” make me take a deliberate look to be sure.
I just finished dictating an audiobook of Senator Joseph McCarthy’s “America’s Retreat From Victory”...I really enjoyed reading it. The one before it, “Life and Times of Joseph Warren” (of Revolutionary War fame) was harder, because it was written in 1868, and the prose in some ways was markedly different from how we phrase things today.
I first heard the word in an old rant by Terence McKenna.
He agreed with your point that it is a good description of modern humans—particularly those living in well to do urban environments.
The virtue signaling so common today is an excellent example of neoteny.
The Karen (irritating meddling) behavior is another example.
Name calling, scapegoating and finger pointing is also child-like behavior.
Serious adults just don’t do those things—they respect individual autonomy and creativity and value logic and respect in human relationships.
neoteny
Had to look that up myself. Interesting word...and kinda neat looking.
Thanks very much. So Nikki Haley’s loss to “other” yesterday doesn’t really mean much does it?
The usual lies and BS I see.
Paper ballots are more secure. There is an audit trail. They cannot be hacked unlike electronic ballot systems. It is far more difficult to commit fraud unlike the massively fraudulent 2020 election in Nevada in which people filled out multiple ballots, and/or filled out ballots for others.
No wonder the Election Fraud Deniers don’t like having a Caucus. They can’t manipulate the results.
One little known tip on Joe McCarthy:
A major source of his was Secretary of Defense James Forrestal.
Many of us “conspiracy theorists” claims he was assassinated.
A former Freeper who used to post as dcdave wrote a fascinating book on the subject:

By “tailored to ensure Trump’s success” what they mean is secure from fraud. Because you see when you don’t commit massive fraud Trump wins. He represents what the people actually want rather than what the establishment wants.
Just the “slap in the face” factor.
