Lie-a-watha.
I bet Lizzy has never even seen a Dorito.
Inflation and shrinkflation are consequences of printing trillions of dollars out of thin air. These products are in the supply and demand realm, if folks dont like higher prices or less product per bag , they can always show frito lay how they feel by not buying their products.
They in Big-Heap of trouble now.
Plays perfect with the cognitive dissonance crowed. They thank her for re-upping their dose of stupid.
Liz is right about the quantities being less & the prices being more, but not sure she’s right about the cause. The prices are the effect of the cause. All indications that I see seem to start because of Joe Biden, who doesn’t want to accept blame for much. So, of course the Democrats would want to direct the causes away from him. That’s pretty hard to do when some of it is a direct action of something he has done. Take the price of motor fuels; directly related to store prices because of cost of delivery. Now where I live, motor fuel prices are coming down, but that doesn’t mean they are everywhere. I live in a small area, so these costs aren’t affecting much as few items are manufactured/produced here in the local area, but look at fuel costs in California for instance. I don’t have to tell most people about that or how many products are produced there. Then, too, I feel that many costs may be unnecessarily high because of the effect of a business in one area seeing costs higher in another are & they feel they need to follow suit. As an example when I was working, I felt that my wages were inadequate because of what I had to pay for goods coming from California for instance. We are basically one of the lower wage areas in the U.S., possibly partly because of lack of competition here.
Also, boxes of breakfast cereal, potato chips, cheese puffs etc are down in weight, but prices are higher. Thanks, Lunch Bucket Joey Bidet!
Ms. Native American Ass-Wipe takes on Big Ass-Wipe. Heap big pile of buffalo do-do.
ever notice that as the portions of every thing else get smaller the heap big pile of buffalo do-do gets bigger? cause and effect is definitely at play but not sure which is cause and which is effect.
In my younger working days I was poor.
Then I become prosperous.
How did that happen?
Several decades ago I made one big decision and implemented it.
I left California.
My coffee bags went from 12 to11 oz recently while price went up. Most of these increases are bidet economy errors. However it is not all that. Soda prices have exploded over past six months here, far above material and wage increases.
Me thinkum Grey Beaver have something here.
I went to the store, which I don’t often do, and was shocked at the price of snacks. The patent must have gone off Pringle’s chip technology (ha ha) recently, and I thought I would try out a new company’s sour cream chips. So, I open the can, and it’s two thirds full.
THE ENTIRE PURPOSE of “Pringle chip technology” was to reduce breakage and reduce the cost of producing/shipping/storing a low density foodstuff. Leaving a can 1/3 empty completely defeats this. I thought about complaining about it to the company on their website, but who cares, they wont get any of my money ever again. Screw ‘em.
As recent as 8 years ago, we were borderline poor. Working class poor. On a household income at almost $150K/year, we had no cash in our wallets.
Then we changed things. We got on a zero-dollar budget, we made paying off debt our top priority and we eliminated unnecessary spending. In short, we started to live below not above our means, we finally grew up.
Today we are 100% debt free, mortgage paid off and we own everything we have in our possession. If we think we want something we think long and hard before spending the money.
In spite of much higher costs for consumer goods, we are saving north of 40% of our income. I’m maxing out on my 401K at the 50+ year old provision, spouse is putting 15% in her 403B total that is $44,000.00/year into our retirement accounts, another $18K into savings and our brokerage account. Next year we will buy a new (late model used) car paying in cash.
It’s all simple math to be honest. Simple math and common sense and a bit of old fashion self-control. And not residing in California!
Fauxcahontas Buffalo Wings goes on warpath again. Crazy Massachusetts Injun.
I buy special coffees & grinds online, so I haven’t noticed any changes, and I haven’t drank soda since the 50s, as a kid. I’ll check some of the soda bottles next time I’m at the market.
Tye downsizing of package contents Began and Started with Barry the Muslim and his Hope and Change BS.
The last that I saw, ‘3 pound’ coffee cans were down to 35 ounces, so I’m not sure that shrink-flation can continue much more there, at least.
16 oz bag of coffee beans has shrunk to 12 oz. Pretty soon they will be selling it in little snack baggies.
