I dont see what is preventing the owners from showing up with a gun and saying get out or I’ll shoot! Oh I don't know, maybe something like going away to prison for 10 years.

The wrong people are being rewarded and punished.

I don’t get it.
You walk in... see people in your house, fear for your life and shoot them. Seems pretty cut and dry castle doctrine.
