I suppose inflation is felt on a consumer by consumer basis.
Meaning: I often get my groceries delivered, b/c of foot problems that come and go, or just b/c I want them delivered.
If I had to pay an average of $5. more for home delivery this year, vs last year, I would very likely just go ahead and pay it. $5. more in expenses is not going to break the bank.
I may just shop less frequently.
But then, I have no wife or nearby family to explain the budget to and justify that slight increase.
My fit, healthy 20-something son used to live in Seattle. He was ordering door dash all the time. I thought it was stupid. He was three blocks away from 3 or 4 different food joints.
I have no idea what grocery stores charge for deliveries, but getting a week’s worth of food delivered might be worth it. But not a McDonald’s every other night.
