I’m a DoorDash driver (now in my 4th year) and I’m not a fat ass driver. I’m dedicated, responsible, respectful and a very hard worker, and I have to say that goes for all of the Dashers in my own area that I know of — I can’t speak for zones outside of mine. My clients are often mothers with young kids who can’t get out, elderly or sick people who can’t get out to shop for themselves, and more often than not people who just want to feel a bit privileged and treat themselves to a delivery “Jeeves.” I get so tired of people denigrating drivers (good drivers...the bad ones deserve the criticism). If not for DoorDash, I’d have a hard time making ends meet in my own old age. And I love doing it. That having been said, we’re independent contractors. DoorDash pays us a base of $2.50 and we are grateful for the tips from our clients. Speaking just for myself, I wouldn’t want to be regulated or given a minimum wage. DoorDash is my own business and I enjoy the independence. Wish Doordash would up their game, though!!!

Thank you for driving and providing a needed service. Customers are willing to pay a fair price and tip higher for exceptional service, but we are tired of paying excess fees. Unfortunately, the government imposed the $5 charge here.

I feel these are deceitful to consumers. I don't want to read a bunch of T's & C's just to order food or take a Lyft. Similarly AirBnb has priced itself out the of the market with excessive fees.
