And With That Embarrassing Move, Nikki Haley Has to Know She's Finished
Town Hall ^ | 4 Feb 2024 | Matt Vespa

Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has no path to the Republican nomination. It’s an open secret, though the woman vows to fight to the bitter end, like Davy Crockett at the Alamo. She got waxed by Trump in Iowa and New Hampshire and tried to spin both crushing defeats as victories. Liberal donors are keeping her war chest healthy, but this isn’t about country or service. It’s about ego now. Sure, Trump has an ego, but he’s also a former president, real estate magnate, and soon will be the 2024 Republican nominee. He’s winning stuff—period. Haley is not, so why keep up the appearance like this is a legitimate two-man race?

As Trey Gowdy noted during the night of the New Hampshire Primary, South Carolina voters like Tim Scott and Nikki Haley, with the former being the most popular politician in the state and the latter viewed as a good governor, could neither beat Trump. Haley’s approval could be 90 percent—they’d still vote for Trump. It’s what it is. So, can someone explain why Haley was on Saturday Night Live last night....

...

Who thought this was a good idea? She won’t get a bump from this because this isn’t 1968, she's not Nixon, and Laugh-In is no longer on the air.

Richard Nixon credits his appearance on the famed sketch comedy show as one of the reasons why he won the 1968 election. Does Haley think she can bounce back from a surprise SNL cameo? Or does she know she’s about to get thrashed again and doesn’t care? If she's about to be pummeled, she might as well go out having fun. Based on her Iowa and New Hampshire speeches, you could argue that she feels this could help humanize her more with voters....

She’s NOT in it to win it and she never was. She’s being paid to stay in as a spoiler - try to steal some of Trump’s thunder.

That, and to build up her retirement account. All the donations she has gotten will be funneled to a foundation which will be magically populated by her family members and friends who will funnel the money magically back to her.

She’s going to soak up as much of the donor money as she can have to pay off the 2.5 million dollar house on a S.C. island and a few other item to make the rest of her life easier.

Obama put on a "mask" while he was campaigning in '08.

We saw the true Obama when he became President. As a result, North Carolina and Indiana went for Romney in '12.

Richard Nixon credits his appearance on the famed sketch comedy show as one of the reasons why he won the 1968 election.

One big difference is that Dan Rowen and Dick Martin supported Nixon, even appearing at a rally in Burbank, CA for him.

No serious Republican should expect anybody at SNL to support them.

See the History Channel's 2018 article: Did Nixon’s ‘Laugh-In’ Cameo Help Him Win the 1968 Election? for more details.

Nixon’s acceptance speech at the 1968 convention was a major factor for him. (Goldwater’s speech at the beginning of the convention was also a masterpiece.)

Yep. We’re all much more educated and aware than we were in 2016 and 2020. If they’re gonna steal this one, they’ll be playing for keeps because it’ll be too damned obvious to ignore. They’ll have to go full on dictatorahip to keep it. Folks will be jailed left and right.

I don’t know how she gets paid but that sounds about right.
And/or a gig as the latest token fake conservative on the fake news.

Quote via The Conservative Treehouse:

John Bingham, framer of 14th Amend. [that made her a citizen] – “I do not stand here to cavil with men who are not read in the horn-books of the law; but I assert that every man born within the limits of the Republic, or under its flag at sea, of parents who were not the subjects of any other sovereignty, are, in the very words of the Constitution, natural born citizens.”

Rep Bingham quote is from Cong. Globe, 37th, 2nd Sess., 407 (1862)

“Haley’s parents were Indian immigrants who did not become U.S. citizens until after her birth in 1972. Her father, Ajit Randhawa, became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1978, Haley’s office said. Her mother, Raj Randhawa, became a U.S. citizen in 2003, a year before Haley won a seat in the S.C. House.”

Nimarata Randhawa (her maiden name) is NOT eligible to be president. She is an anchor baby born to non-citizens.

Stop with that incessant bullshit. You're sounding like a broken record now.......Sheesh!

I'm sure the SCOTUS is willing to hear your complaint...........LOL!

I’m surprised to hear that Dan Rowen and Dick Martin supported Nixon. They often interspersed their comedic routines with political commentary - usually left leaning. Although that sort of thing has become commonplace in the entertainment industry nowadays, it was unusual for the time. But by today’s standards their comments would probably seem pretty mild.

No serious Republican should expect anybody at SNL to support them.

No serious Republican candidate should expect anybody who supports them to watch SNL.

Nikki has made herself the Kamala Harris of the Republican Party. She’s evidently decided to go “all in” with a losing hand.

[I don’t know why this has to be repeated so often:

She’s being paid to stay in as a spoiler]

Keep repeating it - because that’s the truth - she’s Jeb! Bush
