Statistica offers no such clarification for the UK data, but their rise began in the same year—and I wonder if something similar also occurred there.

Remark deserves to be elaborated on. Are you perhaps referring to "date rape," sex occurring in a state of intoxication, or what?

I suspect that a disaggregation of the English/Welsh date according to ethnic background / migration status would prove very enlightening, and make any discussion of "definition-changes" moot.
