For many it wasn’t really voluntary. It was for many people, for all intents and purposes, compulsory. Every government employee had to take it. Almost all health care workers had to take it. Anyone who worked for a government contractor had to take it. Livelihoods were threatened. For a while you couldn’t enter public venues without proof of the jab. The media and the CDC/NIH pushed it incessantly, along with the fear of dying from Covid or killing someone by spreading Covid even though the shot didn’t prevent contagion one iota. The alphabet agencies colluded with media companies to censor dissent. There were many lies not just about the shot but about Covid and how it spreads and how to mitigate it and how to treat it. It was so overwhelming that you may consider it brainwashing; the stuff of cults. It was mass Stockholm Syndrome. That psychosis may wear off at some point.
Personally I have never regretted getting the vaccines. But I am appalled that such dictatorial powers were used by the government. That is a dark chapter in American history that will never be forgotten.
