I’ve heard that before with regards to Canada but always wondered how would they know? Do US states send that info to other countries or do those countries have access to US state databases? Or do DUI’s somehow make it into a federal database and onto your passport? I’ve been to Canada, Japan and Mexico several times and always breezed through customs. If I had a DUI would I even be allowed on the plane or would they turn you around at customs?
There’s a way in but you have to go through legal hoops.
United States and Canada share LE information, so a policeman there can see any convictions or warrants just like cops from different states.
Someone I know got pulled over for drunk driving in Florida. They saw he had a prior conviction from Tennessee in…1981, over 40 years ago.
