I’ll make them a deal. Legalize abortion and get rid of welfare, since now there shouldn’t be anymore unwanted children that I have to pay for.

This is a meaningless bullshit NATIONAL POLL of 1200 registered voters, with each state represented proportionately, meaning state like kalifornikator and new york get a higher number of calls.

Since we don't {yet} vote in a President by total popular vote, these supposed results are void of any real meaning.

None of the women in my family have had an abortion, as far as I know. My point, even if badly-stated, was that women will vote for access to abortion whether they need it or not. Polls and election results show that.

This is a State issue, like prostitution, and gambling.

The Federal government has laws regarding gambling. It is not solely a state issue.

18 U.S. Code § 1955 - Prohibition of illegal gambling businesses

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/1955

And re prostitution - ever heard of the Mann Act?

>>On which enumerated power would that be?

They usually construct some nexus with interstate commerce. The Interstate Commerce Clause is very expansive.

I hope you’re just theorizing. We rightfully griped for fifty years about the fact that Roe was a usurpation of states’ police powers, I.e., not a federal issue. That’s the notion on which Dobbs v Jackson women’s Health Organization is founded. To now come up with some Jerry-rigged theory to make it a federal issue would be the height of hypocrisy. No such statue would get past the Senate in any event

Non of the pro-abortion camp believes that the anti-abortion camp won’t now pursue federal restrictions.

Congress and the Supreme Court generally have figured out how to federalize almost any regulation or law that they want. Enumerated powers is a very weak reed on which to rely.

And the most extreme position against abortion is to have the Supreme Court decree that life begins at conception and that the fetus has all the legal protections of a baby already born.

The abortion issue is a very potent political issue at the national level, particularly since there are now a lot of activated single-issue pro-abortion voters.

In 1984 the New York Times said that 57% of women voted for Reagan.

Reagan built his base after winning the 1980 election with 46% of the female vote.

How many of your 8 (4+4) would EVER need to get an abortion? Undoubtably it is an issue, but doesn’t females need to feel protected by government as a substitute for dad/husband play a role?
Gender gap was an issue before R v W was overturned.

In 1980 46% of women voters chose Reagan, in 1984 57% did,

Reagan worked to win over the doubts they had about the scary right winger, Reagan worked and strategized to sell his message, to enlarge his base.

Reagan educated voters and led them to his views.

I think we’re both right. They want access. It is a form of protection, for sure, but it gives them freedom. The lesbians, who will never need to avail themselves of coat hanger surgery, are some of the most vocal advocates of abortion. Keeping men out of the process is what they’re trying to do. My girls just want to be able to decide for themselves. I have to accept that; willingly or not, it doesn’t matter.

So we return to constitutionalism by ignoring the Constitution like they do?

Are you proud of your women’s devotion to abortion? I think that abortion politics were the start of the gender chaos. Women were No longer proud of of what makes them a woman. They refused to accept any rational restrictions that are common in most countries around the world.

Do they break down the numbers by single/married and age groups? What about other variables? This poll data looks incomplete and insufficient for effective analysis.

Actually, SINGLE women are highly motivated to vote for free abortions to 9 months. And probably beyond.

Married women? Probably not so much so.

“In the 2022 exit poll, married and unmarried voters were almost mirror images of one another. Fifty-eight percent of married voters supported GOP House candidates while 59 percent of unmarried respondents voted Democratic.

Married men and women did not differ significantly from one another: 59 percent of married men and 56 percent of married women voted GOP. But there was a large gap in the unmarried category: A bare majority of unmarried men, 52 percent, voted for GOP candidates; only 31 percent of unmarried women did.”

I think this is smoke being blown to influence the election by getting lemming to run of the cliff together.
